A Survey on Routing Protocol and Gateway Discovery in Vehicular Adhoc NETwork (VANET)

Thamarai selvi, Gokulakrishnan

Vehicular Adhoc NETwork (VANET) is the subcategory of MANET which has vehicle to vehicle and vehicle to infrastructure communication environment. VANET enable vehicle to communicate with each other but it require an efficient and robust routing protocol for their success. Several gateway selection schemes have been selected the gateway nodes based on some parameters. To improve the network performance, it is essential to select the routing protocol. In this paper, the survey of gateway discovery, gateway selection and comparison of algorithm to choose the routing protocol has been discussed.
