Automatic Segmentation of Coronary Artery and Abnormality Detection in Angiographic Images

ANU PRABHA. R, S.S. THAMILSELVI

Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) is the disease commonly leads to Heart Attack. Heart Attacks are due to the formation of plaque along the inner wall of the coronary artery, which narrows the arteries and reduces the blood flow to the heart. In this paper the coronary artery is segmented using Graph cut algorithm, which includes vesselness measure, geodesic measure and edge detection by canny edge detector. The images which contains blockages leads to reduced blood flow in the artery is classified as abnormal images ortherwise normal by using Support Vector Machine (SVM) classifier.
