Constrained Reliability Redundancy Optimization of Flow Networks using Genetic Algorithm

The paper defines a method based on genetic algorithm to solve constrained reliability redundancy optimization of flow networks. The algorithm is implemented using an advance dynamic adaptive penalty function approach considering a mix of feasible and a certain amount of infeasible solutions to guide the search from both feasible and infeasible region sides to optimal or near optimal solution of capacity related reliability of flow networks. The algorithm uses a weighted reliability dependent composite performance measure for the optimization. The method is efficient in terms of its optimality rate and efficiency.
