The cell envelope of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) is composed of a matrix of peptidoglycan, mycolic acids, lipids, and carbohydrates along with some proteins. The characterization of proteins associated with the cell wall is presently needed to understand the bacteria in terms of its survival, immune modulation in the host, resistant to drugs etc ,so as to find a way to combat tuberculosis disease. In this study, a cell wall hypothetical protein Rv2004c was taken for further characterization and functional annotation using various Bioinformatics tools like FASTA, STRING, InterproScan etc. Also insilico modeling of this protein was carried out with Robetta, an automated modeling tool and SAVS, a validation server and finally a valid model was obtained.
