The Functionality of the Housing Policy Instruments in Uganda

This article explored the functionality of the housing policy instruments in Uganda, using a case of Kira Municipal Council (KMC) in Wakiso District (a Local Government). Housing is a basic human need only next to food and clothing. There are many policies and other legal instruments that enforce physical planning and partnerships with key stakeholders in the housing sector. The policies aim at reducing the housing shortage in Uganda, although there has been very minimal success in their implementation. Quantitative data was collected from 32 respondents while quantitative data was collected from 8 respondents.
